Josh was born and raised in the mountains of NC. He currently guides for Curtis Wright Outfitters. When not on the water with clients he also works in one of their three shops providing information on both products and places to fish. He is also in charge of the fly tying department, and the destination travel as well. Many of the activities that Josh is a part of include Trout Unlimited, Project Healing Waters, Casting for Recovery, and Rivercourse (a kids fly fishing camp sponsored by TU). Born and raised in the Western North Carolina Mountains and been fishing all my life. Picked up the long rod 10 years ago and never looked back. Promptly after starting fly fishing I began tying flies and then moved on to Rod Building starting with graphite and moving on to Bamboo 3 years ago. I spend 100+ days a year on the water and love chasing wild fish in our higher elevation mountain streams with one of many custom Bamboo Fly Rods that I have built. Through my time at WCU I was able to work for a local Fly Fishing shop, tie flies, guide trips, build rods, and learn from some of the best around. Occasionally I attended school, and met my wife during this time who of shares my love for the river. I developed a passion for the Fly that will never leave me and continues to grow as I now enter into the more technical/competition side of the sport. I feed off of competition.
