Competition Results for the Team

The NCFFT had a two members qualify for the 2009 National Fly Fishing Championships in State College, Pennsylvania. Chris Lee and Paul Colcord competed against 50 of the nations top anglers in this years Nationals. The conditions were demanding with high flood waters making fishing all but impossible in the early rounds. The waters finally calmed down and allowed some fish to be caught. Chris and Paul earned respectable finishes at 25th and 28th. Check out the Competition Results

2nd Annual Rumble in the Rhododendron

This years Rumble in the Rhododendron was a successful event with Team USA's Josh Stephens and partner David Woody taking first place. The weather proved to be a factor with torrential rains coming down during the casting event. 15 teams advanced to the fishing rounds and faced the swollen waters of the Raven's Fork River. The fish cooperated with almost all teams scoring fish. You can watch the Rumble on an episode of the Fly Rod Chronicles coming soon. We will keep you updated on the aire date. This event was once again hosted by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Fisheries and Wildlife Management Unit.
